FAQs

What is the difference between regular PediaSure® Grow & Gain Shake and PediaSure Shake Mix?

While both products have 240 calories, 25 or more vitamins, are a good source of protein, and taste great, there are a number of differences between PediaSure Grow & Gain Shake and PediaSure Shake Mix powder with advantages to each.

PediaSure Grow & Gain Shake (ready-to-drink) is complete, balanced nutrition to help kids grow. It can be used either as a supplement or as sole source nutrition if a medical practitioner chooses. Key differences from powder include:

  • 1g of prebiotic fiber
  • DHA for brain health (32mg of DHA per 8 fl oz serving)
  • Lutein for eye health

PediaSure Shake Mix (powder) when mixed with milk is complete, balanced nutrition to help kids grow. It should only be used as a supplement to a child’s uneven diet and should never be tube fed or used as a sole source of nutrition. When mixed as directed, key differences from the ready to drink 8 fl oz bottle include:

  • 70% more protein (12g vs 7g)
  • 40% more calcium (350mg vs 250mg)
  • Higher levels of the following nutrients: vitamin A, folic acid, thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B12, biotin, zinc, selenium and molybdenum.

Due to these higher nutrient levels, maximum number of daily servings is: 1 to 3 years: 1 serving; 4 to 8 years: 2 servings; 9 to 13 years: 3 servings.
