How does PediaSure relate to my child’s nutrition?

9. Can PediaSure Grow & Gain products be used as a sole source of nutrition?

PediaSure Grow & Gain ready-to-drink shake products sold in the retail market are designed to provide a source of complete, balanced nutrition for children 2 to 13 years of age for supplemental oral use. In the hospital setting or under the care of a physician, PediaSure Grow & Gain ready-to-drink shakes may be used as sole source nutrition or as a supplement. PediaSure Grow & Gain ready-to-drink shakes are designed for both short-term and long-term nutrition support. As with any nutritional product used as sole source nutrition, a child using PediaSure in this way should have close medical supervision.

The use of PediaSure for nutrition support of children has been evaluated in at least 16 studies (7 published, 9 unpublished) in the U.S. Excellent catch-up growth, GI tolerance, and acceptance of the formula have been documented in children receiving PediaSure for 20 years of clinical use.

If the child is eating foods and drinking other beverages, it is especially important to determine how much PediaSure would be appropriate in the context of the overall diet.

28. PediaSure Grow & Gain shake or PediaSure Shake Mix powder?

PediaSure Shake Mix (powder) when mixed with milk, is complete, balanced nutrition to help kids grow. - 40% more calcium (350mg vs 250mg)
- Higher levels of the following nutrients: vitamin A, folic acid, thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B12, biotin, zinc, selenium and molybdenum.

Due to these higher nutrient levels, maximum number of daily servings of PediaSure Shake Mix (powder) is: 1 to 3 years: 1 serving; 4 to 8 year: 2 servings; 9 to 13 years: 3 servings.
